The theme for the inaugural ‘Canva Create’ which attracted 3,000 live attendees and over 300,000 people tuning in globally was “The Future is Visual” and we successfully brought this concept to life.
From the 18-metre long visual display showcasing key Canva templates in the foyer to the bespoke pixel light tunnel guests walked through symbolising heading towards the future, we ensured the event included as many visual elements as possible.
The event commenced with a beautiful performance from Bangarra Dance Theatre followed by a presentation from the Canva Founders announcing exciting product launches on the 3 custom LED screens.
During the 90-minute presentation, our team transformed the Hordern Pavilion forecourt by setting up multiple food trucks, a DJ stage, live entertainment and activations. The area usually utilised as a loading dock was set up with festoon lighting, live food stations and cafe seating to create an outdoor festival experience.
This was all unveiled at the end of the presentation when the 12-metre wide central LED screen lifted above the stage to reveal the secret after party spaces.
Guests were invited to walk up and over the main presentation stage to enter the next phase of the event – a new visual world filled with live music, roving performers and engaging Canva activation cubes. Guests enjoyed hit performances from Furnace & the Fundamentals and multiple DJs as well as photo opportunities in a room filled with 550 yellow rubber duckies and the Infinity Mirror Room.
