SYDNEY TOWN HALL: CENTENNIAL HALL

Located in the heart of the Sydney CBD, Sydney Town Hall is an unmissable building that is an iconic part of the city landscape and is home to various retail stores and restaurants. Although it may not be as iconic as other landmarks in the Sydney skyline, such as the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, the building itself holds a lot of rich history with its English Renaissance styled interior.

Before the completion of the Sydney Opera House, Town Hall was the largest indoor venue and the first public space to be equipped with permanent electric lighting. Singers, dancers and musicians performed from the stage of Centennial Hall and through recordings and radio broadcasts, they were able to reach a wider audience.

The versatility of the space provides infinite possibilities for staging and theming making it the perfect backdrop for any indoor event. With upgraded services and facilities, wheelchair access and a hearing support system, it is a suitable venue for any type of event from a business conference, awards dinner, cocktail event or even a concert.

At The Event Room, we have created many large scale events in the Centennial Hall including the 60th Anniversary Dinner for Teachers Health Fund as well as the Annual Celebration for QBE Insurance. The adaptability of the venue allowed us to transform the space for a sit-down gala dinner for 600 pax but also utilise the same space on another occasion for a cocktail event for 1200 pax.
